MALTA – GlobalFoundries is laying off about 30 workers in New York.
The company says it’s making targeted cuts to reduce operating cuts.
The layoffs represent less than three percent of GlobalFoundries workforce worldwide.
The semiconductor company says it’s created 2,200 jobs at Fab 8 in Malta and across the state.
GlobalFoundries says these cuts will affect its support and non-technical positions.
A spokesperson says the company is still on target for sustainable growth and plans to add to its workforce through next year.
