Hydro-fracking regulations will not be finalized until next year | News

New York State has a moratorium on drilling for natural gas using a technique called hydraulic fracturing, and it appears that moratorium will remain in place until at least next year.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation was supposed to finalize regulations for hydro-fracking by the end of November.

Now they say they will miss that deadline, which means they have to reopen the review process and hold at least one more public hearing.
