Students tour SuperPower Inc. | People
Tech Valley High School students took a trip to SuperPower Inc. in Schenectady.
The six students toured the facility and spoke to researchers and developers. They discussed how the company develops “second-generation high-temperature superconducting (2G HTS) wire.” They also discussed the advantages of using 2G HTS technology over conventional conductors.
"We always enjoy these visits as it gives us a chance to share our excitement about our work and, we hope, spark some interest in the technology in the workforce of the future," said Traute "Trudy" Lehner, senior director of marketing and government affairs for SuperPower Inc.
The students also learned about the production of “green” power and SuperPower’s role in the “green” movement.
